Sopwell Lane was once a main road, and the Goat was a coaching inn. It's still a charming building and very spacious. It has suffered in recent years from indifferent management but is now firmly back on track. The beers are excellent (especially the St Austell) and they know how to serve Guinness properly! Food is also available.
