Ember Inns has a strict access policy for children - they are welcome but only in the patio/beer garden area!! Indoors is a child-free environment (unless the child is 14+ and having a meal) which suits us fine. The pub is located in an affluent area of Widnes and has recently been subject to a fantastic refurb - result = it looks brilliant. The atmos is warm and relaxed and the bar service has improved in that you are able to be served a lot more quickly than you did 12 months ago! The food is tasty and the choice is also very good. I recommend the burger meal - it is very good value for money. They also have food themed nights (grill nights, curry nights etc) and they still hold quiz nights a couple of times a week. This is well worth a visit.
